FAQS & Useful Links@ Roadart Driving School

FAQ's

Q: How will I know if my instructor is registered and qualified to give instruction?

All registered instructors are required to display a green or pink badge in the windscreen of the tuition vehicle whilst giving instruction for payment. When you meet your instructor for the first time, ask to see his/her badge and check that it is current by looking at the expiry date and photo I.D displayed on it. If in doubt get out and look for another school. At Roadart our instructors are fully qualified and registered with the driving standards agency and will not be offended if you ask to see identification. Our instructors have also undergone criminal history checks ensuring you peace of mind.

Q: Do I have to pass my theory test before starting my driving lessons?

The simple answer is no! It can be beneficial to be studying for your theory test whilst taking your driving lessons as they complement each other. You must however be in possession of your provisional licence and keep the paper counterpart in a safe place as you will need it for any tests that you go to in the future.

Q: I am generally nervous! Where will I start my lessons from?

Most people are nervous to some degree when starting driving lessons, some more so than others. At Roadart our instructors are well experienced and have had many nervous pupils in the past and will do everything to try to help you relax. We will start your lessons on quiet roads and only move on to more complex roads as and when your confidence, skill, and ability increases. We will structure your lessons to suit your individual needs and at a pace you find comfortable.

Q: Do you conduct mock tests as I get nearer to the real test?

Yes. Roadart see mock tests as an integral part of your training program and our clients learn a lot from them. Your mock test will be conducted by an instructor you are not familiar with and he will direct you on a route much the same as a real test examiner. He will watch you drive and mark any faults displayed on a mock test sheet followed by a short debrief at the end of the test. This gives you and us a clearer picture of how you might drive the car under real driving test conditions.

Q: If I come to Roadart from another driving school will I have to start my lessons from the beginning again.

Definitely not, if you join us from another school we will conduct an assessment drive with you to find out what you have already learned so you can carry on your lessons at the appropriate stage that suits your skills and ability.

Q: I live or work in London. Is it possible to have driving lessons or a driving test in Morden or Sutton?

Yes. Roadart currently has many clients who travel in from all over the London area to take driving lessons with us. We are ideally situated within easy reach of Morden and Sutton driving test centres and are based close to Morden tube station, making it an ideal place to be picked up. The benefits include having your tuition on the local roads in the area you will take your driving test.
